Prince Harry taps Meghan Markle in bid to ‘Win Over’ King Charles

Prince Harry recruits Meghan Markle to help 'Win Over' King Charles as reconciliation efforts intensify

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly now on the same page about reconciling with King Charles III, with a source revealing that the Duchess has finally come fully onboard with her husband’s push to repair the relationship. Harry is said to be delighted by the development, having long believed that Meghan’s involvement would play a key role in rebuilding ties with the King.According to a report by the National Examiner, Harry and Charles already have plans to meet this summer during the couple’s expected return to England for an Invictus Games event, but until recently Meghan was not fully committed to the reconciliation effort.

Meghan Markle’s olive branch to King Charles and Queen Camilla

The source revealed that Meghan took a significant first step by sending Charles and Queen Camilla a gift to mark the third anniversary of their joint coronation on May 6. “Meghan put together this huge gift basket, and she and Harry added a sweet note,” the source said. “They know that they need to include Camilla even if it’s a total pantomime.”Despite the gesture, the royals did not publicly acknowledge the couple’s wedding anniversary less than two weeks later on May 19. “It stung,” the source admitted. “But instead of getting knocked down, Meghan made a point of showing she harbors no ill will.”

The ‘calculated’ wedding anniversary post

When Meghan shared photos on Instagram to celebrate eight years of marriage to Harry, she included a poignant image of King Charles, who stepped in at the last minute to walk her down the aisle at their 2018 wedding. The source suggested the inclusion was entirely deliberate. “That was her idea to share the photo. It was very calculated. She and Harry are pushing hard for this reconciliation,” the source revealed.”Harry could not be happier,” the source added of Meghan’s shift in approach. “If they’re really going to win Charles over, she needs to be just as involved as he is.”With both Harry and Meghan now said to be aligned on the goal of reconciliation, all eyes will be on their expected return to England this summer and what, if anything, it produces in terms of a thaw with the royal family.
