Priyanka has never shied away from expressing how deeply she misses her father. She even got a tattoo in his honor a few months before his passing. Opening up about their bond during her appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, she said, “I was very close to my father. He was my greatest champion, my biggest cheerleader, like the loudest guy in the room. You know if I’d win an award he’d be like, ‘Ahh!'”.

He passed away on June 10, 2013, in Mumbai, at the age of 62. His death came after a five-year-long battle with terminal cancer, which he had been diagnosed with in 2008.

On the professional front, Priyanka Chopra recently featured in ‘Citadel 2’, which stars Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci in prominent roles. She is also scheduled to make her return to Indian cinema with ‘Varanasi’, a Telugu-language epic fantasy science fiction action-adventure film directed by S. S. Rajamouli. The screenplay has been co-written by Rajamouli and V. Vijayendra Prasad, with the film being produced under the banners of Sri Durga Arts and Showing Business.
