Patralekhaa: Rajkummar calls me every day during pregnancy

Patralekhaa says Rajkummar Rao calls her every day during pregnancy: ‘He asks if I’ve eaten, if I’m okay’

Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa have been together for 15 years, after first meeting on the sets of CityLights in 2010. The couple tied the knot on November 15, 2021, and announced their pregnancy in July 2025. Over the years, they have often described each other as their biggest support systems, and now, as they step into parenthood, that bond is only getting stronger.

Patralekhaa opens up on pregnancy

The Phule actress appeared on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast All About Her alongside gynaecologist Dr Ranjana Dhanu, where she discussed her pregnancy journey and her experiences as a first-time mother. The third episode will be released on September 5.During the conversation, Soha asked if Rajkummar had been more watchful of her during this phase. Patralekhaa replied, “Raj isn’t the kind of person who tells me what to do or what to eat; he really lets me be me. But I can feel how concerned he is, especially since he’s been away shooting and not in Mumbai. He calls every day to check in, asking if I’ve eaten, if I’m okay, and how I’m feeling.”She also spoke about her love for fitness, “As for fitness, that’s been part of me since I was 10 years old. Right up until the day I conceived, I was working out every day. I genuinely love it. It keeps me balanced and happy.”

Rajkummar on embracing parenthood

After their pregnancy announcement, Rajkummar told the Hindustan Times that they were looking forward to the new chapter with excitement.”We are absolutely thrilled, to be honest. We feel like a lot of our friends, who are parents, have been telling us that this is going to be the best phase of your life. So, we are looking forward to it. And it’s still sinking in.”He added, “Every day is a new day. We have known each other for 15 years. We have grown up together. So, we are still sometimes like, ‘What, actually, this is happening. We’re going to be parents.’ That being said, it is a beautiful feeling.”
