Actress Patralekhaa is joyously preparing for a doubly exciting festive season as she enters her last trimester. Along with her husband, actor Rajkummar Rao, the couple is set to welcome their first child and launch their first film production soon. In a recent interview, Patralekhaa shared her deep excitement, noting that her pregnancy has been a source of light this year, despite the physical challenges. She revealed that this year’s Diwali celebration feels especially significant, describing it as a celebration for the “three of us” as they prepare to welcome the new family member.
Patralekhaa is super excited about Diwali
Talking to Hindustan Times she said, “We are super excited. Firstly, the baby’s coming, and also, professionally, our first production is going to come up in a couple of months. We are also editing our second film. So there is a lot happening, and it’s an exciting phase.”With her last trimester underway, the actress reflected on how pregnancy has changed her life, describing it as a source of light this year. She noted that the journey has been unusual and challenging, with the body undergoing changes over the nine months, and acknowledged that it can feel overwhelming at times with the anticipation of welcoming a new family member.
Patralekhaa reflects on family and festivities
Patralekhaa opens up about how Diwali now feels like a celebration for the three of them, stating, “I don’t feel like it’s the two of us anymore because the baby is just right there, ready to arrive.” She describes the couple’s Diwali rituals with warmth, “Raj and I are quite spiritual. Since the time we got married, we have a Diwali Puja every year without fail. Raj is also quite clinical about his mandir, he loves it as this is the place he sits and meditates the most. So, he cleans up the whole place. Sometimes the pandit ji comes and sometimes even Raj has done the puja.”
Patralekhaa on the essence on Diwali celebrations
Recalling her childhood in Shillong, Patralekhaa spoke about the close-knit circle of family friends she grew up with. She explained that in her hometown, her parents and their friends, along with their children, would gather every evening for several days leading up to Diwali. She noted that the tradition still continues, with many of her friends returning each year to celebrate, but she admitted that this year she couldn’t attend and missed it greatly.Patralekhaa also reflects on the essence of Diwali, “It’s always about being with friends and family on the eve and on the day of Diwali. And I feel like somewhere Diwali is about cleansing, because you’re not just cleaning up your house, mentally also you are clearing things out, making space for new things and new year to begin.” Patralekhaa signs off with her heartfelt wish for the season: “I just want to have a happy and healthy baby and my production to do really well.”Meanwhile, on the workfront, Rajkummar Rao was last seen in the action-adventure film, ‘Maalik’.
