Papon pays a tribute to Zubeen Garg at his first live show after the ‘Ya Ali’ singer’s demise

Singer Zubeen Garg’s demise left everyone in a state of shock and grief. His untimely passing had an impact that can’t be described in words. In the wake of this loss, singer Papon earlier cancelled all his live shows. He recently returned to the stage, performing his first show in Pune, after the demise of Zubeen Garg. The late singer was Papon’s dear friend and thus, during his performance, he remembered him and paid a beautiful tribute.

On Saturday, Papon returned to the stage to perform at an event in Pune. Several videos and pictures from his performance are doing the rounds on social media. However, one video, which struck a chord with the audience, featured Papon speaking about his friend Zubeen on stage.“This is my first show after he left, and I wanted to celebrate him… Zubeen Garg is among us with his voice and music… Meri aukad nahi hai ke unke jaise gaaon, aur yeh gaana meri zone ka bhi nahi hai. But humne isko apne zone mein banaya hai (Singing like him is out of my league, and this genre isn’t even my zone. But we’ve made it fit our style),” Papon shared with his audience.Not just this, Papon also sang Zubeen Garg’s song ‘Jaane Kya’ from ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects.’

When Papon cancelled his shows after Zubeen Garg’s demise

Struggling to recover from the loss, last month, Papon cancelled all his professional commitments. He did this so as to pay a tribute to Zubeen Garg. He even issued a public apology, saying sorry to his fans and event organisers. “I sincerely apologise to all concerned for cancelling my commitments,” he mentioned in his statement.After knowing about Zubeen’s tragic news, Papon, in his memory, shared an old picture of them and wrote,“Missing you so much, my brother. Stay happy wherever you are.”

Zubeen Garg’s demise

Zubeen Garg passed away on September 19 in Singapore while swimming in the sea with a group of friends and associates. His mortal remains were brought to Guwahati, India, and on September 23, his last rites were performed.
