Pankaj Tripathi reviews his daughter’s acting debut

Pankaj Tripathi believes his daughter is 'smarter' than him; 'This new generation is very sharp,' says 'Mirzapur' actor reviewing her acting debut

‘Mirazapur’ fame Pankaj Tripathi is one of the seasoned actors we have in the industry. And now it appears from the Tripathi household, one more star is ready to carve its own path. We are talking about Pankaj Tripathi’s daughter Aashi, who made her stage debut with a play in November. As they say, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Aashi and her play garnered appreciation. The actor recently opened up about how he felt on seeing his daughter shaping into an actor, and shared his thoughts on her career choice.

Pankaj Tripathi’s honest review of his daughter Aashi’s acting debut

Play titled ‘Lailaaj’ staged in November. The ‘Criminal Justice’ star said he watched the play not as a father but actor and gave his honest feedback to Aashi. He highlighted that she took the feedback beautifully and implemented the same. The results were visible sooner than expected. “By the third show, I saw her improvement,” he said in conversation with Hindustan Times before adding that he felt his little girl was sharper than he was. “When our teachers used to explain all these things, it would take us one or two years to adopt that. She achieved that miracle in just three shows. This new generation is very sharp, very advanced. But the problems they face are also sharper and very advanced,” he quoted.

Pankaj Tripathi on Aashi’s career choice

In the same conversation, he mentioned that though Aashi hasn’t yet decided on choosing acting as her career, he will be completely supportive of whatever decision she makes. He believes that everyone should be given the freedom to choose their line of work. He said, “I will let her find her way. I know the difficulties that lie on this path. Either I can scare her now, or I can give her the freedom to do her thing her way. Not just my daughter, I think this freedom should be given to all kids. Tell them to do what they want, and even if they fail, it’s no big deal.”

Pankaj Tripathi’s upcoming movies

Last seen in Anurag Basu’s romantic drama ‘Metro…In Dino,’ Pankaj Tripathi is currently working on two projects – ‘Mirzapur’ film and ‘Parivarak Manuranjan.’ Reportedly, both projects have a 2026 release schedule.
