Palash Sen explains Arijit Singh’s exit

I know why my bro is quitting': Palash Sen REASONS why Arijit Singh is stepping away from film playback singing

Singer Palash Sen opened up about Arijit Singh’s recent move away from film playback, sharing relatable anecdotes from his own career. Having starred in the 2002 film ‘Filhaal’, Sen wasn’t originally keen on acting but embraced it for the sake of a single song. He empathizes with Arijit’s choice, acknowledging his own past commitments to artistic integrity over commercial success.

Singer Palash Sen has spoken with rare honesty about Arijit Singh’s decision to step away from film playback singing, and the reason it hits home is simple. He has lived it. His words read less like a headline and more like a memory resurfacing, the kind that smells of old studios and quiet disappointments. Sen does not sound bitter. He sounds clear. He looks back, joins the dots, and says out loud what many artists only think. Sometimes the industry pushes people to choose themselves.

Palash Sen on choosing a path beyond films

Taking to Instagram, Sen shared photos from his 2002 film ‘Filhaal’, directed by Meghna Gulzar. Reflecting on that phase, he wrote, “24 years back this day or perhaps on 2nd Feb, my first film as an actor , FILHAAL, was released .. it was a flop .. i was written off badly by most critics and trollled by most filmi people.”He added that he “wasn’t interested in films to begin with” and did the project only to sing a song written by “the greatest poet- writer of all time , Gulzar saab,” and composed by “the legendary Anu ji.”Then came the line that links his past to Arijit’s present. “The truth is I know why my bro, Arijit is quitting film playback. I was there way back & I chose my own path.” Sen also recalled the irony of award season, writing, “that year I got nominated for all Best newcomer awards .. of course I won nothing.” Seen together, the posts land like a quiet statement of survival. Sen seems to suggest that applause can vanish overnight, while self-direction stays put.

Arijit Singh quits film playback singing

According to Network 18 and Arijit’s own Instagram note, the singer has decided to stop taking new playback assignments. In his message, Arijit wrote, “Hello, Happy new year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much of love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey.”He also thanked listeners for their unwavering support and called his time in films “wonderful.” The announcement, shared on January 27, spread fast across news outlets and fan pages. For many, it felt sudden. For Palash Sen, it does not read that way. Go to Source
