Pahlaj Nihalani passes away at 76: Kangana Ranaut, Chunky Panday, Randeep Hooda and other B-town celebs mourn the loss

The Hindi film industry is mourning the loss of veteran producer and former Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani. He passed away at the age of 76 and left behind decades of contribution to Indian cinema. The news of his demise quickly spread across the industry and prompted reactions from actors, filmmakers and film personalities. Celebrities express grief on social media

Many film personalities shared messages after learning about his passing. Actor Randeep Hooda shared a heartfelt message and remembered the late producer with condolences for his family. He wrote, “Saddened by the passing of #PahlajNihalani ji. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace. Om Shanti..” Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh also remembered Pahlaj Nihalani and spoke about his contribution across different areas of the film industry.He wrote, “Veteran filmmaker and distributor #PahlajNihalani is no more… A prominent figure in the Indian film industry, Pahlaj ji produced several noteworthy films during his illustrious career and played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of numerous actors, directors, and film personalities. Pahlaj ji was also among the industry’s leading distributors, having distributed several major films over the years… In addition, he was one of the most vocal and influential voices in the production sector… Later, he served as the Chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification [#CBFC]. Heartfelt condolences to his family… Om Shanti.”

Kangana Ranaut and others remember him

Actress Kangana Ranaut also shared a message and spoke about Nihalani’s role in supporting cinema and artists through the years. She wrote, “Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Pahlaj Nihalani ji. A producer who backed numerous films, launched and supported many artists, and remained passionately committed to Indian cinema for decades, his contribution to the film industry will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time. Om Shanti.” Actor Chunky Panday also paid tribute through social media and remembered the veteran producer with a post. Kamaal R Khan shared a message as well. He wrote, “RIP Pahlaj Nihalani Sahab! You did a very good job as a film maker. We all have to follow you sir. This is the real truth of the life.”

The veteran actor mourn the loss, Sharing the post on X, he wrote, Deeply grief-stricken, shattered, by the tragic passing away of a deeply cherished dearest friend & family friend best filmmaker, former Chairperson CBFC #PahlajNihalani. He was a good & rare soul, very popular in the film fraternity. He leaves behind a profound void —an irreparable & irreplaceable loss. Prayers of strength to his wife Kantu & children. A long journey in Hindi cinema

Pahlaj Nihalani built a long career in the Hindi film industry and remained connected to many commercial entertainers through the years. His filmography included projects such as ‘Gunahon Ka Faisla’, ‘Paap Ki Duniya’, ‘Mitti Aur Sona’, ‘Shola Aur Shabnam’ and ‘Aankhen’.
