TRIGGER WARNING: This article includes references to violence and abuse.Nijiro Murakami, best known for his role in the hit OTT series ‘Alice in Borderland,’ faces charges and allegations for allegedly abusing his ex-girlfriend. According to the latest reports, the actor allegedly injured the woman he was dating almost two years ago at his home.

Nijiro Murakami faces abuse allegations

The actor came under fire after Nikkan Sports reported that the famed Japanese actor is under investigation for an incident that occurred almost two years ago at his home in Shibuya district. Allegedly, reports state the star caused multiple injuries to the woman he was dating two years ago, including punching her. The incidents, as per the report, occurred between March 2024 and May 2024, where the woman was injured around 4 times.The injuries were serious, including slamming her head against a window, punching her, and pulling on her hair. According to the report, all of the injuries took more than a month to heal. Rightful authorities are currently looking into the matter. The case has also been referred to prosecutors for further investigation as well. Tokyo’s Harajuku Police Station was initially in charge of the investigation. The issue came to light after the woman pressed charges against the actor and opened up about her ordeal. The issue caused quite a stir, especially after the actor admitted to the charges in a statement, which read, “There is no doubt that I injured her.” At the time of writing, neither the actor nor his management agency has issued any proper statements about the matter at hand.Nijiro Murakami was already a prominent figure in Japan; however, he rose to worldwide fame following his feature in ‘Alice in Borderland’. On the work front, he is set to appear in the premiere of ‘Strange – Junji Ito’s Strange Stories That Keep You Up at Night’ on July 3.
