‘Money Heist’ fans may have something else to look forward to ahead of the ‘Money Heist: Berlin’ season 2 release. In a public spectacle, along with an online trailer, creators of the hit show announced that the universe of ‘Money Heist’ is expanding yet again. The announcement, ahead of the release of season 2 of ‘Berlín y la dama del armiño’ or ‘Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine’, has left fans of the hit show in a frenzy, wondering what will come next.
‘Money Heist’ spin-off project announced
Only days before season 2 of ‘Money Heist: Berlin’ releases, the show’s host OTT platform announced a brand new spin-off. While they did not give specific details about whether another season for the original series will be released, or if another chapter will be made, the announcement was in true ‘Heist’ style.Other than releasing a video teaser, they planned a grand stunt in Seville, Spain, to announce the upcoming project. What’s On Netflix reported that on May 9, at the Guadalquivir River, a group of people trailed down the water body dressed in the iconic red jumpsuits and white masks. As thousands of people watched on, the beats of ‘Bella Ciao’, the official theme song for the show, played along with them.The video announcement also showed clips from all of the seasons of the original series, along with a lengthy caption revealing that the world of ‘Money Heist’ is not over yet. “Some stories start with the perfect strike. And this one changed everything,” the caption started, further adding that “From the first heist for cash to the most artful robbery of the century, including the assault that put tons of gold from the Bank of Spain on the line, the universe of La casa de papel has never stopped growing, evolving, and surprising us. But if there’s one thing that’s clear, it’s that the revolution NEVER ends.”The video itself concluded with “The world of Money Heist continues.” While the platform has chosen to keep any other details of the show under wraps, the trailer and the public mass event have certainly built up the excitement.
‘Money Heist’ universe
As of right now, the series has three branches or chapters in the franchise. There is the original ‘Money Heist’, which ran from 2017 to 2021. There is also a South Korea chapter called ‘Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area’, and the third spin-off titled ‘Berlin’. The first season was released in 2023, while the second season, titled ‘Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine’, will be available on Netflix worldwide on May 15. Go to Source
