Calling it “mid-air neglect,” she criticised Etihad Airways for poor treatment and lack of response. The airline apologised on X, asking her to connect via DM for assistance.

Neelam Kothari recently shared a troubling ordeal she faced on a flight from Toronto to Mumbai. During the journey, she reportedly lost consciousness and claimed that the airline crew failed to offer adequate help. In a social media post, she expressed disappointment over both the long delay and the absence of proper medical follow-up after the incident.

Sharing her experience on X (formerly Twitter), Neelam criticised the airline for what she termed as “mid-air neglect.” In her post, she stated, “Dear @etihad, I am extremely disappointed with the treatment I received on my recent flight from Toronto to Mumbai. Not only was my flight delayed by over 9 hours, but I also fell seriously ill onboard, fainting after a meal.”

She went on to describe the lack of assistance she faced, stating, “Despite a fellow passenger helping me back to my seat, I received no follow-up care or even a single check-in from your crew. I’ve tried contacting your customer service with no response. This level of neglect is unacceptable. Please address this matter urgently.”

Airline’s response to Neelam Kothari’s complaint

Responding to her post, Etihad Airways acknowledged Neelam’s complaint and asked her to get in touch through a direct message for further help. The airline commented on X, “Hi Neelam. Sorry to hear about that! Please get in touch with us via DM to look into this for you and assist accordingly. Thanks! Rose.”

The actress also reacted to a dismissive remark made by a social media user, replying, “You wouldn’t be so flippant had it happened to you my friend, or one of your loved ones!”.

Neelam Kothari, who became one of Bollywood’s popular faces during the 1980s and 1990s, starred in over 30 movies, including the blockbuster family film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’. She eventually took a break from acting in the late ’90s to dedicate her time to her jewellery business.
