While talking about the film, Rani Mukerji shared with Mid Day recently on how emotionally heavy the story is. She spoke about how the pain shown in the film affects the actors too. She said, “Emotionally, the trauma that the girls suffer in the film is also what we suffer indirectly, as we know that they are inspired by true events. To think of the missing girls and what their families go through is traumatizing.” Rani explained that this emotional weight is not easy to handle. The story stays with her even after the shoot ends.
Why Rani had to detach herself
Rani Mukerji also shared that she had to control her emotions while acting. She felt that getting too emotional would affect her performance. She said, “I had to detach myself from these emotions because, according to her, if she had gotten emotional, she would not have portrayed her character well.”She further explained her reason for choosing such films.
