'I haven't washed my hands since...': National Award jury member Prakruti Mishra pens sweet note for Shah Rukh Khan, recalls shaking hands with him

Prakruti Mishra, a National Film Awards jury member, celebrated Shah Rukh Khan’s first National Award with an emotional Instagram post. She shared her excitement about being part of the panel that honored him, recalling a memorable handshake. Mishra expressed that Khan’s victory inspires Indian artists to strive for their dreams.

Prakruti Mishra, who served on the 71st National Film Awards jury, couldn’t keep her excitement to herself as Shah Rukh Khan finally bagged his first National Award. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she reminisced about the special moment of being on the panel that honoured the superstar and shared a funny memory of a handshake she’ll never forget.Prakruti shared an emotional Instagram post about the experience. She posted photos from the event, including one with Shah Rukh and jury head Ashutosh Gowariker, and spoke about her journey on the selection committee.Check out the post here: “When I was selected to be a part of the central jury panel for National Film Awards, I didn’t know that I would be a part of the team of 11 who would be responsible for @iamsrk Sir to get his much-deserved and long-awaited first-ever national award. Being a part of this iconic moment makes me realise that ‘Agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho toh puri kainaat usse tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai’. This victory feels personal because it gives every Indian artist the dream to hope, to strive and to win! Thank you @iamsrk saab for inspiring us with your humility, hard work and grace.” Adding a humorous touch to her tribute, she joked: PS: I haven’t washed my hands since the most special ‘handshake’ of my life. Congratulations @iamsrk Sir on your first and most awaited National award. It was an honour to have been in the panel and fight for what you deserved many years ago.”Meanwhile, on the work front, Shah Rukh is set to return to Poland, where he is filming Siddharth Anand’s upcoming action film King. The project also stars his daughter Suhana Khan, along with Deepika Padukone, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhay Verma, Jackie Shroff, Rani Mukerji, and Anil Kapoor. The film is scheduled for a 2027 release.
