Music director Shankar Ganesh hospitalized in Chennai: Legendary composer suffers breathing issues, and fans pray for his recovery

Renowned music composer Shankar Ganesh has been admitted to SIMS Hospital in Vadapalani, Chennai, due to sudden shortness of breath. Doctors are keeping him in the ICU and providing him with intensive treatment. As per News 18, he fell ill while he was on his way to Karur to attend the DMK’s grand festival. He was supposed to sing a song at the event and was taken to the hospital due to a sudden illness.

He rose to fame with the film ‘Aattukkara Alamelu’ starring MGR and established his own identity by composing music for many successful films in the 1980s–90s. His music was well-received in many films, including ‘Sivappu Malli,’ ‘Chidambara Ragasiyam,’ ‘Sattam Oru Iruttarai,’ ‘Oorkavalan,’ and ‘En Rathathin Rathame.’

Shankar Ganesh has composed music for films beyond Tamil, including Telugu and Kannada.
