Multiplex chain dismisses reports of suing Puja Films

Vashu Bhagnani row: Multiplex chain dismisses reports of legal action against his production house; calls them 'misleading'

As Vashu Bhagnani finds himself at the centre of a growing legal storm in Bollywood, a fresh media report claiming that PVR Inox was planning to sue his production house, Puja Films, has been firmly denied. The multiplex giant has issued an official statement calling the story “misleading and speculative” and taken the opportunity to publicly praise Jackky Bhagnani’s way of handling business affairs.

PVR Inox denies plans to sue Vashu Bhagnani’s Puja Films

According to a Bollywood Hungama report, PVR Inox was preparing legal action against Puja Films over pending dues linked to a reported Rs 100 crore three-film deal between the two companies. The claim surfaced just as news broke that Vashu Bhagnani had filed a separate Rs 400 crore lawsuit in the Bombay High Court against Tips Industries, comprising Ramesh Taurani and Kumar Taurani, and director David Dhawan, in connection with the film ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’.Taking to Instagram, the multiplex chain issued a detailed rebuttal. The statement read, “We have noted a recent media report concerning PVRINOX Pictures and Mr Vashu Bhagnani. The contents of the story are misleading and speculative in nature and do not accurately reflect the facts or the nature of the relationship between the parties. PVRINOX Pictures and the Bhagnani family share a longstanding and cordial professional relationship built over years of collaboration and mutual respect. “The company added, “We do not believe it is appropriate to discuss the details of any commercial arrangements in the public domain.”

Multiplex chain praises Jackky Bhagnani’s professionalism

Beyond denying the report, the theatre chain used the statement to extend rare public praise to Jackky Bhagnani. The statement noted, “We would also like to place on record our appreciation for Jackky Bhagnani’s handling of all matters between the two companies. Jackky has consistently demonstrated professionalism and a deep commitment to carrying forward Vashu Ji’s legacy. Our interactions with him have always been constructive and collaborative.”The statement concluded with a call for media responsibility, adding, “We request media outlets and stakeholders to exercise due diligence and refrain from drawing conclusions based on inaccurate and unverified reports.”

Vashu Bhagnani’s production house responds warmly

Puja Films echoed the sentiment on its Instagram, thanking PVR Inox for its support and affirming that they deeply value the relationship and look forward to more successful collaborations ahead.
