Mrunal reveals Dhar was first filmmaker she ever asked for work

'I don’t shy away...': Mrunal Thakur reveals ‘Dhurandhar’ director Aditya Dhar was the first filmmaker she ever asked for work

Mrunal Thakur began her career with ‘Hello Nandan’ (2014) and entered Bollywood with ‘Super 30’ (2019). She shared that getting roles wasn’t easy and she often approached filmmakers herself. Mrunal revealed Aditya Dhar was the first she asked for work and expressed admiration for ‘MOM’ director Ravi Udyawar, who now helms ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’.

Mrunal Thakur made her film debut with the Marathi movie ‘Hello Nandan’ (2014) and entered Bollywood with ‘Super 30’ in 2019. In a recent interview, the actress shared that getting opportunities wasn’t easy for her, and she often had to reach out to filmmakers herself to find work.

Mrunal Thakur opens up about chasing opportunities

In a conversation with News18, Mrunal revealed, “Opportunities didn’t come to me easily. I had to create them. I had to chase them. I had to make sure that I flash my face in front of the directors, saying, ‘Sir, main hoon! Kisi na kisi din cast kar lena please.’ I don’t shy away from doing these things.”

Mrunal Thakur recalls approaching Aditya Dhar

Reflecting on her early struggles, Mrunal shared that filmmaker Aditya Dhar, who directed ‘Dhurandhar’, was the first person she mustered the courage to approach for an opportunity. She said, “In fact, Aditya Dhar was the first director I had approached and asked for work from. When I spoke to him after Dhurandhar, I told him that I’ll always remember that day. I didn’t know how to ask for work. I didn’t know how to communicate.”

Mrunal Thakur reveals being inspired by Sridevi’s ‘MOM’

During the conversation, Mrunal revealed that watching Sridevi’s ‘MOM’ left such an impact on her that she personally told the film’s director, Ravi Udyawar, about her wish to collaborate with him someday. Interestingly, Ravi Udyawar is now directing her upcoming project, ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’.

Mrunal Thakur’s next film ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’

‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’ also features Siddhant Chaturvedi in the lead role and is scheduled to release in theatres on February 20, 2026. Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the team is busy in pre-release buzz events. Go to Source
