‘Mirai’ Day 16: Teja Sajja starrer struggles to hit Rs 100 crore

'Mirai' box office collection Day 16: Teja Sajja starrer struggles to hit Rs 100 crore mark

Teja Sajja’s Mirai, which opened to impressive numbers and strong buzz, is now struggling to inch closer to the coveted Rs 100 crore milestone. On its 16th day (third Saturday), the fantasy action drama earned an estimated Rs 1.25 crore, taking its total domestic net collection across all languages to Rs 86.55 crore. According to Sacnilk, while the film saw a minor revival on Friday with collections picking up slightly, growth over the weekend has remained modest.Occupancy tells the weekend mood of ‘Mirai’ The Telugu version, which continues to be the biggest contributor, recorded an overall occupancy of 36.03% on Saturday. Morning shows opened at 21.04%, but footfalls improved throughout the day. Evening shows performed better at 47.09%. Despite this, the occupancy rates remain average for Mirai. The road ahead for ‘Mirai’Directed by Karthik Gattamneni, Mirai has been appreciated by audiences for its adventure-style storytelling, which many say resembles a video game. The movie’s cast features Teja Sajja alongside Ritika Nayak, Manoj Manchu, Jagapathi Babu, Shriya Saran, and Jayaram. With Rs 86.55 crore already in the bag, the big question is whether it can stretch its run enough to hit the Rs 100 crore benchmark before fading from theaters. It also remains to be seen if the film can become a blockbuster like Teja Sajja’s previous film ‘Hanuman’.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
