Miley Cyrus honoured with star on Hollywood Walk of Fame; shares her hope to continue to 'affect the hearts of generations to come'

Miley Cyrus unveils her star on Hollywood Walk of FameThe ceremony comes on the heels of the 20th anniversary celebrations of her hit show, ‘Hannah Montana’, which launched her to global fame. Cyrus received her star in the Recording category during the event, which had actress Anya Taylor-Joy and fashion designer Donatella Versace celebrating the singer. Miley Cyrus reflects on ‘Walk of Fame’For the event, Miley stepped up in a stunning black gown. The singer took to the stage to reflect on her song “Walk of Fame” from her 2025 album Something Beautiful and noted singer Brittany Howard singing the words, “You’ll live forever.” In her speech, she said, “Although I love the lyric, the fact I won’t [live forever] is what creates the urgency that sets my heart on fire, my life and my art, and my desire to break down the walls of any boxes that we’ve been tricked to believe that exist.”The singer also shared advice once given to her by her father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. As reported by ABC, Miley said, “My dad used to say that a skyscraper starts with a jackhammer – so does a star on the Walk of Fame by the way – and it’s not about the force, but it’s about the repetition. What feels so special to me about this star is that it’s an accumulation of devotion.”Miley Cyrus on building her legacyReflecting on legacy and meaning behind the star, she added, “The star isn’t something that you win like a seasonal game. It’s not something that you can chase or collect. It’s not something you make the next record for, and then tote it around like a trophy.”She continued, “After today, I commit to continuing the cycle full of creation, because that is what I truly live for. My hope is what I leave behind continues to affect the hearts of generations to come, ones that I won’t be here to experience. I hope it awakens something raw and imperfect and sexy and glamorous and joyful in times that need it.”Miley Cyrus’ family attends eventThe singer concluded her speech by thanking her fans, family members, including mother Tish Cyrus and sister Brandi Cyrus, as well as “her future family,” referencing fiance Maxx Morando, who attended the ceremony alongside his parents.Hollywood Walk of Fame on Miley Cyrus receiving her star“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome singer Miley Cyrus to the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” said Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies. “Miley deserves her flowers as she has made a lasting impact on the entertainment industry, and we are thrilled to honor her with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Generations of young girls have grown up watching her evolve, finding inspiration in her journey and fearless creativity,” Martinez added.
