Meezaan Jafri, who was last seen in the film ‘De De Pyaar De 2’, recently opened up about the insecurities of the new generation of actors. Citing the example of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Darr’, he stated that a strong belief in one’s own talent can overpower the fear of being compared. Let’s take a look at what he has to say.

Meezaan Jafri says actors of current generations are underconfident

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Meezaan Jafri was asked if the actors of the current generation hesitate to lead a movie with another male star. To which, the son of actor-dancer Jaaved Jaaferi said, “They are not hesitant; they are extremely insecure and underconfident, okay? Agar woh apne craft mein confident hote, toh unhe confidence hota ki main koi bhi character play karu, I will perform to the best of my abilities (If they were confident in their own craft, they would have had the confidence that no matter which character I played, I would perform to the best of my abilities).”Citing the example of Shah Rukh Khan’s performance in ‘Darr’, the actor stated that if the superstar had thought about the comparisons, he wouldn’t have played the villain. Meezaan said that SRK “outshined everyone because he believed in his craft and he was confident in himself. And I think I take the same approach.”Meezaan expressed that he is quite confident in what he does, his screen presence, his dialogue delivery, and the way he looks. He concluded, saying, “And I know I’ll be able to perform and stand out in whatever I do.”
