‘Mastiii 4’: CBFC removes bold visuals and censors dialogues ahead of release

‘Mastiii 4’: CBFC removes bold visuals and censors dialogues from Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani starrer ahead of release - Report

The adult comedy ‘Mastiii 4’, releasing on Friday, November 21, has been generating buzz thanks to its trailer and the popularity of the franchise. With adult comedies rarely making it to the big screen in recent years, the film’s theatrical release was expected to draw extra scrutiny from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, the makers have reason to breathe easy. The board has cleared the film with only a handful of modifications.

CBFC asks for minor dialogue and visual changes

According to Bollywood Hungama, CBFC requested only a limited number of changes. Three dialogues were modified, and one was asked to be completely replaced. The word “behen” was substituted with another term, and the word “item” was also replaced in a separate portion of the film. Additionally, the name of an alcohol brand was changed, most likely to a fictional one to avoid any promotional concerns. The board also raised objections to a few visuals. A nine-second “top angle animal humping” shot was asked to be removed. Furthermore, the CBFC instructed the makers to reduce a 30-second sequence featuring close-up shots of human faces. In total, 39 seconds of footage were cut from the film.

Certified A with a runtime of 2 hours 24 minutes

After the required changes were made, ‘Mastiii 4’ was granted an ‘A’ certificate on November 17. The censor certificate lists the film’s final runtime as 144.17 minutes, which translates to 2 hours, 24 minutes and 17 seconds.

About ‘Mastiii 4’ and its cast

Directed by Milap Zaveri, who recently delivered the surprise super-hit ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’, ‘Mastiii 4’ marks the return of the franchise’s long-standing trio. Within the film, the story maintains the franchise’s signature blend of comedy, chaos, and wild confusion. Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani return as three friends who once again land themselves in trouble while trying to enjoy life. The situation spirals into bigger madness when criminals get involved and, for the first time, the wives have their own affairs running parallely. The back-and-forth between husbands and wives turns the plot into a battle of one-upmanship, with all the dramatic meltdowns and misunderstandings that come with it. The film has been shot across various UK locations, adding scale to the adventure. This time, they are joined by Ruhii Singh, Shreya Sharma, Elnaaz Norouzi, Natalia Janoszek, Shaad Randhawa, and Nishant Singh Malkani. The film also features Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, and Nargis Fakhri in important roles.According to OTT Play, the film is expected to stream on ZEE5 after its theatrical run. Go to Source
