Actor R Madhavan was awarded the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honours, by President Droupadi Murmu at the second investiture ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on June 23. His wife Sarita Madhavan and son Vedaant Madhavan had joined him for the ceremony. The actor opted for a navy blue classy ethnic wear for the occasion.But his watch was the highlight of his look. The actor sported a Jalsa Nebula by Titan with 18-karat rose gold case. It has a miniature painting on the marble dial inspired by Jaipur’s Hawa Mahal. This is a limited edition watch worth Rs 40 lakhs and only 10 pieces of it are available worldwide.Following the ceremony, Madhavan shared a heartfelt note on social media, expressing gratitude for the recognition and reflecting on his journey in cinema. He began by writing, “I am Deeply humbled and profoundly grateful and truly honored to be conferred with the Padma Shri. My heartfelt gratitude to the Government of India for bestowing upon me one of our nation’s highest civilian honors. I am equally thankful to the Government of Maharashtra for recommending my name and placing their faith in my journey. This recognition is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. ” The actor went on to thank his audience for their unwavering support over the years, stating, “To every person who watched my films, embraced my characters, celebrated my successes, forgave my shortcomings, and stood by me through the years-this honor belongs as much to you as it does to me. Your affection has been the driving force behind every milestone in my life and career.”

Reflecting on the responsibility that comes with the honour, Madhavan added, “Today, I also feel a deep sense of responsibility. Jai Hind. Also thank you @varoinmarwah for always making me look so sharp on all important occasions….” wrote Madhavan.On the professional front, the actor was most recently seen in ‘Dhurandhar 2’.
