Kalyani Priyadarshan’s ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra’, directed by Dominic Arun, has been one of the most talked-about Malayalam superhero films of the year. After an impressive month-long run, the film has now entered its fifth week, showing visible signs of slowdown but still holding strong enough to inch toward the Rs 150 crore milestone.Strong journey, but weekdays tighten gripAs reported by the Sacnilk website, after dominating its opening weeks, ‘Lokah’ has started to feel the weekday pinch.On its 33rd day, the film collected an estimated Rs 85 lakhs across all languages. Now the film has taken its total tally to Rs 147.35 crore.The movie had closed its fourth week with Rs 13.25 crore, led largely by Malayalam audiences. The fifth weekend gave it a temporary boost, with Day 31 (Saturday) and Day 32 (Sunday) showing upward trends of Rs 1.6 crore and Rs 2 crore respectively. Monday saw collections dip again as it fell under Rs 1 crore.Occupancy trendsOn Day 33, ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra’ registered an overall 17.68% Malayalam occupancy and 17.75% Telugu occupancy. In Malayalam regions, morning shows began slowly with just 6.31%. The evening and night shows picked up to over 20% and 31% respectively.Telugu regions had occupancy hovering between 14–20 percent across showtimes.Nearing the big benchmark for ‘Lokah’With a current net of Rs 147.35 crore, ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra’ is now set to cross the coveted Rs 150 crore mark. For Kalyani Priyadarshan, who headlines the film alongside Naslen K. Gafoor, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian, and Vijayaraghavan, this project marks a defining moment in her career.
