Dulquer Salmaan’s Lokah: Chapter 1-Chandra is a box office success. The film stars Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen. It has earned Rs 93.65 crore in 13 days. The movie has surpassed several other Malayalam hits. Lokah is now the fourth highest-grossing Malayalam film. The Malayalam version leads in revenue. The film is part of a five-part series.

Dulquer Salmaan backed Lokah: Chapter 1-Chandra , directed by Dominic Arun and headlined by Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen and a cameo apperance by Tovino Thomas is going from strength to strength with each passing day. After collecting Rs 54.7 crore in its first week, the film in it’s second week in just 5 days has added another Rs 38.95 crore to its tally taking the 13 day collection of the film to Rs 93.65 crore. Till yesterday the film had gone to become the 5th highest grossing malayalam film beating Prithviraj’s The Goat Life (Rs 85.26 crore) and Fahadh Faasil’s Aavesham (Rs 85.16 crore) and by 13th day the film has jumped a spot to take the 4th spot which was held by Tovino Thomas’s film 2018 which had a lifetime collection of Rs 92.85 crore. If one looks at the breakdown till now, the Malayalam version has contributed Rs 72.20 crore to the total tally, with Telugu version contributing Rs 11.45, Tamil Rs 8.25 crore and Hindi at Rs 1.75 crore. The film has had a very staggered release across languages with releasing only in Malayalam , then in Telugu , then in Tamil and a full week later in Hindi. It now stands amongst the three other biggest Malayalam films like Manjummel Boys which minted Rs 142.08 crore to Mohanlal’s Thudarum and L: Empuraan which collected Rs 122 crore and Rs 106.77 crore respectively .Lokah is the part of the 5 part series actor-producer Dulquer Salmaan has put together to form the first ‘Universe’ of Malayalam Cinema. With the way trends are showing for the first part, it would be crossing the Rs 100 crore mark probably over the weekend and fly the flag of Malayalam cinema high as one of the most exciting cinema industries in the country.
