‘Krrish 4’ stalled as Hrithik and Aditya at odds over Rs 500 cr

'Krrish 4' stalled as Hrithik Roshan and Aditya Chopra at odds over Rs 500 crore budget - Reports

Fans of India’s favorite superhero will have to wait a little longer, as ‘Krrish 4’ has officially hit a significant financial roadblock. The highly anticipated fourth installment is facing a major production delay, not due to creative issues or script changes, but because of a substantial budget disagreement between Hrithik Roshan and producer Aditya Chopra.According to Sacnilk, while the film was slated to begin production in early 2026, that timeline now seems impossible. Hrithik, who is set to make his directorial debut with this film, is reportedly pushing for a massive Rs. 500 crore budget to ensure the action, VFX, and overall scale match international superhero standards.

However, Aditya Chopra (YRF) is reportedly hesitant to greenlight such a high figure, preferring to cap the budget at Rs. 350 crore to ensure the project remains commercially viable. Because neither side has reached a compromise, the project has been put on the “back burner,” and Hrithik is now reportedly considering other studios or reworking the script to find a middle ground.

Hrithik Roshan wants a very big film

Hrithik Roshan is not only acting in ‘Krrish 4’ but also planning to direct it for the first time. The ‘War 2’ actor reportedly has a specific and ambitious vision for the project. According to reports from Sacnilk, the actor-director is determined to mount the film on a massive scale, with a projected budget of nearly Rs. 500 crore. This approach stems from his desire to deliver a world-class superhero experience, though the high cost has currently become a point of contention with producer Aditya Chopra, who is reportedly looking for a more financially conservative figure around Rs. 350 crore.

Aditya Chopra wants a smaller budget

Aditya Chopra, producing under the Yash Raj Films (YRF) banner, is reportedly hesitant to approve such an expansive budget. Sources indicate he is currently auditing all upcoming YRF projects with a focus on strict cost-management to ensure commercial safety.

‘Krrish 4’ is now stuck without dates

Due to the current lack of a mutual understanding between the two, all filming schedules have been suspended indefinitely. The production has been pushed back once again, leaving the project without any confirmed start dates for the foreseeable future. In a practical move, Hrithik Roshan has returned to the drawing board to refine the script, seeking ways to incorporate Aditya Chopra’s feedback and lower costs without losing the film’s “wow factor.” Simultaneously, the actor is reportedly testing the waters with other major studios to see if they would be willing to back his ambitious Rs. 500 crore vision.

Priyanka Chopra’s return

One of the highlights of this update is the news regarding Priyanka Chopra Jonas. After several years away from mainstream Bollywood to focus on her global career, she is reportedly making a major comeback to the Hindi film industry. Multiple sources, including Bollywood Hungama, have confirmed that she is set to reprise her role as the female lead in ‘Krrish 4.’
