‘2016 feels special now’: Kiara Advani's heartfelt reaction to 2016 throwback clip with Sidharth Malhotra

A 2016 video shows Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra hugging at an event, unaware of future romance. Fans note blissful ignorance before Shershaah, wedding, and baby Saraayah. Kiara reposts: “2016 feels special now.”

Social media is full of 2016 throwback posts right now. Many Bollywood stars are sharing old photos from 10 years ago to make fans happy. A video from 2016 shows Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra passing each other. This was long before they started dating. One fan said they looked totally unaware of their future together back then. The actress saw the video and said the chance meeting feels very special now.

Viral hug moment

A fan posted a 2016 clip showing Sidharth and Kiara bumping into each other by chance, with no clue about their future love story over the next 10 years. The footage captured them hugging. Kiara was walking into the event while Sidharth was leaving it when they met. The post’s caption said, “Since everyone is in their 2016 flashback era, here’s Sid Kiara in 2016 blissfully unaware that after 10 years they will have a baby together.” Kiara reposted it on her Instagram stories and added, “Aww and just like that 2016 feels special now.”

First meeting on Koffee With Karan

On Koffee With Karan, Kiara recalled her first encounter with Sidharth at the 2018 ‘Lust Stories’ wrap party. She noted, “Funnily, Sid and I knew each other much before we were actually cast for Shershaah. He was, of course, cast. But him and I started talking in…” Karan Johar chimed in, “So, we (Karan Johar and Kiara Advani) crashed the shoot wrap party of Lust Stories at a friend’s house. And, Sid also came to that party and that’s where Sid and you met for the first time.” Kiara replied, “Casually met.”In another episode, Karan Johar recalled the wrap party, saying, “We all went there. There was Vicky, there was Kiara, there was me, and there was Neha Dhupia. And then Sidharth Malhotra called me, and I told him, ‘We’re at this party in Bandra. Why don’t you come?’ Not realising anything,” Karan revealed.Sidharth added details about the moment, saying, “I met Vicky, Kiara, and Amrit all together for the first time,” he shared. KJo continued, “But at that party, you came. Somehow, you said, ‘Okay, I will come,’ which is not your personality. And that’s where he met Kiara for the first time.” Karan made it clear he didn’t orchestrate the meeting of the two lovebirds; it unfolded naturally on its own.

From screen to family

Kiara and Sidharth first shared the screen as love interests in the 2021 movie ‘Shershaah’. Their strong on-screen spark turned into a real-life romance. The couple married in February 2023 and welcomed their daughter Saraayah in July 2025. Go to Source
