Khushi Mukherjee breaks silence on Rs 100 crore defamation case

Khushi Mukherjee breaks silence on Rs 100 crore defamation case, slams 'saste influencers'; ‘I haven’t defamed Suryakumar Yadav in any way’

Actress and social media personality Khushi Mukherjee has finally responded after influencer Faizan Ansari claimed to have filed a Rs 100 crore defamation case against her over her remarks about Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav. Speaking to the media, Khushi maintained that she has not defamed the Indian T20I captain in any manner, while admitting that her earlier comment may not have been necessary.“Mere moonh se baat nikal gayi ki haan, baat hoti thi, shayad nahi nikalna chahiye tha. Par usmein defamation wali koi baat nahi thi,” she told Instant Bollywood, clarifying that while she acknowledged having spoken to Suryakumar in the past, there was no intent to malign him.

‘No legal notice has reached me’

Reacting to reports of legal action, Khushi stated that she has not received any defamation notice so far. According to her, the issue has been blown out of proportion by social media chatter and television debates.“Aisa koi legal notice ya yeh sab kuch mere paas aaya nahi hai. News channels ke paas waise bhi topics nahi hote, toh til ka pahaad bana dete hain,” she added, reiterating that there is nothing defamatory in what she said. “I mean, baat hoti thi, theek hai, sach hai. Defamation? No, I haven’t received any defamation, and I don’t think in any way I have defamed him.”

Slams ‘attention-seeking influencers’

Khushi also took a dig at those amplifying the controversy, calling them opportunistic influencers trying to cash in on the moment. Without naming Faizan Ansari directly, she remarked that some people were simply “warming their hands at the bonfire” for visibility.“Aur rahi baat baaki, kuch aise saste se jo influencers hain, woh bonfire mein haath sekne ke liye aa gaye aur bhaukne lag gaye. So let them bark, that’s all I can say,” she said bluntly.

What triggered the controversy

The row began after Khushi claimed in an interview that Suryakumar Yadav “used to message her a lot,” while clarifying that there was never a romantic relationship between them. The remark went viral, leading to backlash and, subsequently, Ansari’s announcement of a defamation suit. For now, Khushi remains firm in her stance: she admits the comment may have slipped out, but insists it does not amount to defamation — legally or otherwise. Go to Source
