Khushboo teaches self-defence days after gun attack

Disha Patani's sister Khushboo Patani teaches self-defence days after gun attack outside family home: ‘You don’t always need weapons’

In the wake of the shocking firing outside her family’s Bareilly residence, Khushboo Patani, retired Indian Army Major and elder sister of Bollywood actress Disha Patani, has shared a strong message on self-defence.On Instagram, Khushboo posted a video demonstrating how simple everyday items, such as a data cable, can be used to protect oneself in dangerous situations.

Father recounts terrifying incident

The family is still grappling with the aftermath of the attack. Jagdish Patani, retired police officer and father of Disha and Khushboo, told ANI that 8–10 rounds were fired at their Civil Lines home around 4:30 am on Friday. “The gunshots were foreign-made,” he said, adding that two men on a motorcycle executed the attack and left within 7–8 minutes via the Delhi–Lucknow highway.

Alleged remarks misrepresented

The firing was reportedly linked to Khushboo’s alleged comments on Hindu saints Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. Jagdish Patani clarified that the reports were misleading. “Khushboo was misrepresented. Her name was dragged into the matter of Premanand Ji Maharaj. We are Sanatanis, and we respect the sadhus and saints. If someone is misrepresenting her statement, it is a conspiracy to demean us,” he said.Investigations revealed that the assailants had conducted a prior recce of the residence before the attack. The Goldy Brar gang has claimed responsibility for the firing.
