Kartik took a paycut of Rs 15 crore after ‘TMMTMTTM’ failed: Report

Kartik Aaryan took a paycut of Rs 15 crore after 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri' failed at the box office: Report

‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ starring Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday, which released on Christmas 2025, failed to make an impact at the box office. The film got washed off with the ‘Dhurandhar’ storm. The film ended up collecting Rs 32.95 crore net in India as its lifetime collection. Now reports suggest that Kartik has taken a pay cut for the film as it did not do well at the box office. Contrary to speculation about friction between the actor and producer Karan Johar, industry buzz points to a gesture of support from Kartik instead. Bollywood Hungama has quoted a source saying that Kartik voluntarily reduced Rs 15 crore from his agreed remuneration for the Dharma Productions-backed film soon after its release. The decision comes at a time when several Hindi films are finding it difficult to draw audiences, making Kartik’s move particularly noteworthy.

The report further claims that Kartik remained fully supportive of the film and its producers even as it failed to connect with audiences. His actions are being viewed as those of a true collaborator rather than just a leading actor, reinforcing the belief that enduring professional relationships are built as much on handling failures as celebrating hits. Earlier also, after his film ‘Shehzada’ failed to perform as expected a few years ago, the actor had similarly waived a sizeable portion of his fees to reduce the financial strain on the makers. On work front, Kartik is currently filming ‘Naagzilla’, which is co-produced by Karan Johar only. Also See: Hindi Movies | Telugu Movies | Tamil Latest Movies
