Karisma’s lawyer makes BIG ClAIM in legal inheritance battle

Karisma Kapoor's lawyer claims she 'doesn't want anything' from legal inheritance fight with Priya Sachdev for Sunjay Kapur's massive fortune: 'Nobody is doing us a favor'

The fight to secure the estate of Karisma Kapoor’s late ex-husband is currently going on at the Delhi High Court. And recently, the actress’ lawyer stated that she has no interest in the late industrialist’s massive fortune, but the fight against Priya Sachdev is for her kids, Samaira and Kiaan, to inherit their share.

Karisma Kapoor’s lawyer says they are fighting for their kids’ rightful inheritance

According to a Hindustan Times report, senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, who is representing Karisma and her kids, rubbished the claim made by Priya Sachdev about the kids already being allotted Rs 1900 crore. As per the report, the lawyer stated if the estate is Rs 30000 crore, then the kids are just getting Rs 1900 crore. He further mentioned that there are only five legal heirs of his estate, and they are Sunjay’s mother, his three kids, and Priya. He questioned why Priya is not disclosing the will if it’s genuine. Mahesh Jethmalani further stated that the kids should not get the amount at the mercy of Mrs Kapur. He said, “These are assets of Sunjay Kapur; nobody is doing us a favor.”He further questioned, “Is Priya Sachdev going to forsake the remaining Rs. 28,000 crore that goes to her? What kind of a rubbish is this? We are trying to fight for the children’s rightful inheritance.”

Karisma’s stand on the case

Jethmalani further shared that Karisma “doesn’t want anything for herself.” He added that the aim of this entire fight is to secure her children the way her ex-husband wanted it. He added, “As per a trust deed, which dealt with his assets in India, his corporate assets in India, and by and large his assets abroad, for which there was a will, which was never disclosed and neither has been a subject matter of probate nor is it registered.”As per the report, the matter is slated for October 9, before the court.

What happened in the court earlier this week

In the Delhi High Court, Priya Sachdev’s side claimed that Kiaan and Samaira are set to receive Rs 1900 crore and were not excluded from the will. However, Karisma’s legal counsel refuted the claim that her kids have no access to the estate, as Priya is controlling the entire fortune. Go to Source
