Kareena’s dietician slams diet modaks: ‘Don’t replace…’

Kareena Kapoor Khan's dietician Rujuta Diwekar slams the trend of 'new age' diet modaks, urges people to not replace jaggery with stevia: 'They only get yucky'

Kareena Kapoor Khan is known for her fit body even after the birth of her two sons – Taimur and Jeh. Largely, Kareena has credited her fitness to Yoga and Rujuta Diwekar’s diet. The actress had also been given a diet by Rujuta when she got into her size zero body for ‘Tashan’ and Kareena recently admitted that she even ate aloo parathas for breakfast that time. Rujuta is known for bursting several diet myths and in her recent post, she has spoken about modaks on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. As the festive spirit is seen in the entire country, it’s also a time to relish modaks. In her post, Rujuta slammed the new diet versions of modaks to make it healthy. She shared a picture of modaks and wrote, “Modaks are already healthy. They don’t get healthier because you replaced jaggery with stevia, rice flour with ragi or mixed coconut with cocoa chips & moringa. They only get pricier (and yucky). Janhit mein jaari hai. 🙏🏼” Netizens showered love on this post.On the first day of Ganesh Chaturthi, she also dropped a video for people in a dilemma whether to eat modak or not. She shared this video and wrote, “Don’t rethink the modak, rethink the narrative that traditional & festive delicacies are harmful for your health. Here’s a prayer to Bappa that he removes every obstacle that comes in the way of us leading full lives.” Meanwhile, recently, Rujuta asked about what Kareena eats in the day. In this chat with The Lallantop, she had said that Kareena has been following the same diet since 2007 so, it’s been 18 years now. She added further, “Dry fruits like almonds, raisins or figs as soon as she wakes up; paratha or poha for breakfast; dal and rice for lunch; cheese toast (sometimes) or mango/mango milkshake (seasonal) for evening snack; and khichdi with ghee/pulao for dinner.”She added that Kareena eats khichdi for dinner atleast 3-4 times in a week. Kareena also made that revelation during Rujuta’s book launch that she craves for khichdi. “I can’t sleep at night if I don’t have khichdi.”
