Early stages of their relationship

In a throwback interview with Cosmopolitan, Kareena Kwas asked about the most significant thing she had done for her then-boyfriend Shahid Kapoor. The Heroine actress admitted that their relationship was still in its early stages. She explained that it was too soon for romance to take hold, saying they were mostly like friends—“okay, a little more than friends”—since their busy shooting schedules left little time to be lovestruck.

Enjoying simple, everyday moments

The actress also fondly spoke about her movie dates with Shahid Kapoor. The Buckingham Murders actress shared that being with him allowed her to enjoy simple, everyday moments like any other couple. She revealed that they would go out for meals, watch movies, and even sneak into cinemas after the film had started. For Kareena, these ordinary moments were the most special, saying, “I get to be normal and do normal things” when she’s with Shahid. She further shared that she is afraid of heights and speed, mentioning that she never rode Shahid Kapoor’s bike, which he eventually sold at his mother’s insistence. The couple broke up in 2007. Kareena later married actor Saif Ali Khan, and they have two sons, while Shahid married Mira Kapoor in July 2015, and they have a daughter and a son.
