Kareena Kapoor once SLAMMED Mallika Sherawat

Kareena Kapoor once SLAMMED Mallika Sherawat; called out ‘overexposure’ in ‘Murder’: ‘She doesn’t realise…’

Kareena Kapoor is one of the most glamorous actresses in India. She is known for her iconic roles like ‘Poo’ in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, Geet in ‘Jab We Met’ and many more. Bebo started her career with ‘Refugee’ in 2000 and quickly became famous with many hits to her credit. But she surprised everyone when she played the bold role of a s*x worker in ‘Chameli’.

Mallika Sherawat’s ‘Murder’

Mallika Sherawat created a significant buzz in the industry with the 2004 film ‘Murder’, which got a lot of attention because of its intimate scenes. She was very outspoken and was known as one of most controversial actresses. Even with all the attention, she had slowly moved away from big Bollywood films.

Kareena reflected on her performance in Chameli

Talking to Syed Firdaus Ashraf in the past, Bebo spoke about her choice to play Chameli. “When trade people saw Chameli, they were like, ‘Arre Chameli mein thoda s*x missing tha (there wasn’t enough s*x appeal in Chameli). They don’t understand that in ‘Pyaasa,’ Waheedaji (Rehman) was not doing s*x scenes (either). I am sorry, you cannot expect Raj Kapoor’s granddaughter to do those kinds of scenes,” she said. She also reflected on Mallika’s bold film choices, saying, “That was a publicity stunt from them (the makers of ‘Murder’). It was ridiculous. I saw the film and said it was nice. I just felt that there was too much overexposure.”

Mallika Sherawat compared herself to Raj Kapoor’s heroines

Mallika Sherawat reportedly defended her bold roles by saying, “Raj Kapoor’s heroines were also exposed.” This comment, which seemed to compare her work with the way the famous filmmaker showed women, did not go down well with Kareena.

Kareena criticised Mallika’s statement strongly

The ‘3 Idiots’ actress responded firmly to Mallika’s comments, saying, “She doesn’t realise what she is talking about. She made a laughing stock of herself. She is talking about a legend. Raj Kapoor always presented a woman gracefully and tastefully.”
