Karan Johar opens up on having body dysmorphia, as Twinkle Khanna talks about his physical trasformation: 'I'm uncomfortable in my own skin'

Film-maker Karan Johar is always known for being his true self in interviews and is always seen displaying his vulnerable side as well. The director recently appeared on Twinkle Khanna and Kajol’s show ‘Two Much’ spoke about his struggle with body dysmorphia on the show. Earlier, Karan has also spoken about his mental health and seeking therapy to deal with anxiety. Now as he appeared in this latest episode where he appeared with Janhvi Kapoor, Twinkle teased him and called him, “the most likable hated person.” She also spoke about his physical transformation and said, he’s gone from “pineapple-pizza” to a “mozzarella pizza.” Amidst these jokes, Karan further opened up about body dysmorphia. “If you are not true in an interview, there is no point in giving one,” he said, explaining how he has always been open about his mental health and insecurities. “I am very uncomfortable in my own skin,” he admitted, adding that although he’s doing better now, he still feels self-conscious.When Twinkle complimented him on his weight loss, Karan said, “It does not matter what you may be physically. In your head, you are never going to change what’s going on in that space.” He also mentioned that he goes to therapy and described self-improvement as “a whole journey.”Karan had spoken about this before too. In a podcast with Raj Shamani, he shared that after 52 years, he finally started to feel confident, though he confessed he still can’t “look at [himself] in the mirror without clothes on.” Later in the episode, things took a funny turn when Janhvi asked Karan to share one truth and one lie. Karan smirked and said, “I lost my virginity when I was 36 years old and I have been intimately involved with a member of your family.” Janhvi was left shocked, while Kajol and Twinkle burst out laughing.
