The movie has shown impressive numbers in the past few days, earning Rs 8.5 crore on Friday, Rs 12.75 crore on Saturday, Rs 17 crore on Sunday, Rs 11.65 crore on Monday, and Rs 11.95 crore on Tuesday. In its second week, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ collected Rs 147.85 crore, following a massive Rs 337.4 crore in its first week.

Film continues to appeal across India

Though a Kannada film, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ has found audiences in other states as well. It has been well received in the Hindi belt, Telugu states, and Tamil Nadu, besides overseas markets. The film’s universal themes and gripping story have helped it connect with viewers beyond Karnataka, making it a true pan-India hit.

‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ OTT release

The film was initially expected to release on Amazon Prime Video around October 30, roughly four weeks after its theatrical debut. However, with ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ continuing to perform strongly at the box office both in India and abroad, the streaming date is now uncertain. There is a possibility that the OTT release may be postponed to allow the film to earn more in theatres.
