Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1’ takes biggest Saturday collection of 2025

Rishab Shetty’s “Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1” has stormed the box office, collecting an impressive Rs 162.85 crore in its opening weekend. Its Rs 55 crore first Saturday collection marks the highest of 2025, surpassing other major releases. The film is set to easily cross the Rs 200 crore mark, becoming the second Kannada film to achieve this feat.

Rishab Shetty actor- director of Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 has stormed the box office since the day of its release where it went on to collect Rs 61.85 crore on its first day dwarfing Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumar which minted just about Rs 10 crore on day 1. The film witnessed a drop on day 2 ( Friday) which was a working day but even then the film was able to earn Rs 46 crore taking the total collection of the film beyond Rs 100 crore. And on day 3 the film saw a major spike in its collection where it collected Rs 55 crore as per early estimates by Sacnilk , taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 162.85 crore.

With its Saturday collection of Rs 55 crore the film has become the highest 1st Saturday collection of 2025 going past this year’s biggest films like Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava which earned Rs 37 crore on 1st Saturday to Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 which collected Rs 33.25 crore to Rajinikanth’s Coolie which minted Rs 39.5 crore. Kantara is all set for a blockbuster weekend very easily crossing Rs 200 crore mark and becoming the second Kannada film to do so, first one being Yash and Prashanth Neel’s KGF 2. The sequel to KGF went on to mint over Rs 800 crore in India. Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 also featured Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah and Jayaram in leading roles.The makers with the climax of Kantara 2 have already announced the third installment in the Kantara series but it will be a while before Rishab turns back to the film as he already has Hanu-man sequel with Prashanth Verma and Tejja Sajja and he also has Shivaji Maharaj’s biopic in the pipeline.
