‘Dharman,’ starring Rajinikanth and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, was officially launched amid huge excitement from fans. Produced by Kamal Haasan, the film has already become one of the most anticipated projects in Tamil cinema thanks to its powerful title reveal and striking first-look poster.

Speaking at the launch event, Kamal Haasan reflected on his decades-long friendship with Rajinikanth and the journey that finally led to ‘Dharman.’ As reported by Cinema Express, the actor-producer thanked audiences for their continued support and said they played a major role in keeping his career relevant through the years. Recalling their early days in the industry, Kamal Haasan said, “He started a little after me, but very quickly, we became equally successful.” He then shared a memorable incident from a flight journey when both actors discussed their future and made a promise to each other.

Kamal revealed that they had once considered stopping films together because they were receiving numerous joint offers. In that talk, they had a brainstorming session for a new idea. “We decided that one day one of us should produce a film for the other,” he recalled. Although the plan remained unrealized for nearly 40 years, the dream has now come true. Kamal Haasan said that after reopening the RKFI office, he once again discussed the idea with Rajinikanth, leading to the birth of ‘Dharman’ and another upcoming collaboration, ‘KHxRK.’ The veteran actor described the moment as a special milestone in their friendship.

He also joked about Rajinikanth’s excitement for the project, saying, “Usually the producer runs around while the hero relaxes.
