'Kalamkaval' clears censor: Mammootty and Vinayakan's thriller nears release

Get ready for excitement as ‘Kalamkaval,’ featuring the incredible Mammootty alongside Vinayakan, has received its U/A 16+ certification and is set for release soon! Directed by Jithin K Jose, this film dives deep into a captivating moral dilemma that is sure to leave audiences on the edge of their seats.

The much-anticipated Mammootty-Vinayakan starrer Kalamkaval has officially completed its censor formalities and received a U/A 16+ certificate.The announcement was made on the last day through Mammoottyy’s production house’s social media handles, accompanied by a striking new poster of the film.

‘Kalamkaval’ release date

Sharing the update, the caption read, “Truth bleeds. Silence breaks #Kalamkaval Censored with U/A 16+ Certificate!! In Cinemas Soon.” Though the makers are yet to confirm a release date, the certification hints that Kalamkaval might hit theatres sooner than expected.

A moral battle between Mammootty and Vinayakan

‘Kalamkaval’ marks the directorial debut of Jithin K Jose, who earlier penned the story for Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘Kurup’. Earlier the makers had shared the teaser for the film which promises a gritty narrative built around moral conflict and psychological depth. Mammootty reportedly portrays a morally complex villain character opposite Vinayakan.The screenplay for the film is co-written by Jithin K Jose and Jishnu Sreekumar. On the technical side, the movie boasts a strong crew — Faisal Ali handles cinematography, Praveen Prabhakar is in charge of editing, and Mujeeb Majeed composes the music.

Mammootty’s sleek look from ‘Patriot’ goes viral

Meanwhile, Mammootty, who recently recovered from a medical break, is currently filming Mahesh Narayanan’s espionage thriller ‘Patriot’ in the UK. A behind-the-scenes video from the London schedule went viral on social media, showcasing the actor’s stylish salt-and-pepper look. Dressed in a long black overcoat, grey scarf, and dark sunglasses, the superstar exuded effortless charm. The production team shared the clip with the caption, “#Patriot Shooting In Progress at UK.” ‘Patriot’ marks the team up of Mammootty and Mohanlal after a long gap and it also features the actors Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Revathy, and Darshana Rajendran in pivotal roles.
