Mammootty’s latest thriller ‘Kalamkaval’ is showing no signs of slowing down as it completes its first week in theatres. The Jithin K. Jose directorial reportedly maintained a firm hold on Thursday, bringing in an estimated Rs 2 crore on Day 7. With this, the film’s India net total stands at Rs 26.30 crore.According to early estimates from the Sacnilk website, the film saw only minimal drops over the last few days.

Day-wise performance and occupancy trends

After collecting Rs 2.8 crore on Tuesday and Rs 2.1 crore on Wednesday, Kalamkaval registered Rs 2 crore on Thursday. The movie also recorded an overall 22.66% Malayalam occupancy on Thursday, December 11.Morning shows saw an 11.56% turnout, with the numbers rising consistently through the day—21.39% in the afternoon, 24.80% in the evening, and a strong 32.90% during night shows.

Performances and critical reception

The cast includes Mammootty, Vinayakan, Gayatri Arun, Rajisha Vijayan, and Gibin Gopinath. ETimes wrote, “Mammootty remains the film’s biggest asset, delivering a performance sharpened by stillness and cold precision. Vinayakan matches him with a brooding, tightly coiled presence, though the screenplay could have offered him more depth. Despite strong performances, the uneven momentum prevents Kalamkaval from fully blooming into the gripping crime drama it aims to be. “On the other hand, Mammootty’s previous film was the actioner ‘Bazooka’ which received mixed reviews from the audiences and turned out to be a flop.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
