‘Kaantha’ box office collections day 6: Film slows down

'Kaantha' box office collections day 6: Dulquer Salmaan’s film slows down, crosses Rs 19 crore mark

After a promising start, Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘Kaantha’ faced a minor box office dip on its sixth day, garnering around Rs 1.60 crore. Despite this mid-week lull, the film continues to draw audiences, especially in Tamil Nadu.

Dulquer Salmaan’s latest release ‘Kaantha’, directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, recorded a mild slowdown on its sixth day at the box office. After collecting a decent Rs 17.50 crore in its first five days, the film earned an estimated Rs 1.60 crore on Wednesday across all languages, taking the total India net collection to Rs 19.10 crore, as reported by the Sacnilk website.

Mid-week collections and occupancy trends

The film showed a slight dip from Tuesday’s Rs 1.85 crore, with Monday’s drop already marking a 60% fall. However, the mid-week figures point toward a stable hold supported by decent occupancy. In Tamil Nadu, Kaantha registered an overall 14.69% occupancy on Wednesday. Morning shows began on a modest note at 11.55%. It improved to 17.47% in the afternoon and dipped slightly in the evening to 13.28%. Later the film saw a strong 16.45% turnout for night shows. The Telugu version recorded an overall 10.93% occupancy, with numbers ranging between 10–11% across the day. Afternoon and evening shows performed marginally better as it touched 11.47% and 11.78% respectively.

Dulquer Salmaan shines in this period drama

Starring Dulquer Salmaan alongside Bhagyashri Borse, Rana Daggubati, Samuthirakani and Bijesh Nagesh, Kaantha has been appreciated for its performances and visual tone. With Dulquer leading from the front, the film is getting good reviews from both critics and fans.

Dulquer Salmaan opens up about handling failure

Meanwhile, a recent clip of Dulquer during an interaction has gone viral for its honesty. When asked about stereotypes that men should not cry, he responded, “Cry, man. When a film we produced flopped, I cried. It does not make me less of a man.”While the actor did not reveal the film’s name, the underperforming King of Kotha is the only Malayalam production from his banner that struggled at the box office. Despite expectations, KOK disappointed viewers due to its weak story and screenplay, though its action sequences were praised.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
