Bhagyaraj’s two-page letter quickly gained traction across social media platforms. The letter reads, “Happiness comes from making people around you happy,” and mentions that this is his entire life revolves around after receiving such immense love from the audience. In thanking his fans, mothers who encouraged him, and his colleagues from the film industry, he writes, “I have kept my eyes alive just for your loving gaze. Please take care of them.” With these lines, the departed filmmaker let the world about his last wish of donating his eyes.

An emotional blessing for son Shanthanu Bhagyaraj

Through this letter, he conveyed his blessings to his son Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, who is an actor. “Henceforth, I wish for your applause to be his blessing,” he mentioned in his letter, asking his fans to support his son Shanthanu Bhagyaraj in the coming years just as they supported him all through their life. He added that while he would no longer be there in person, his donated eyes would allow him to symbolically keep watching over his fans long after he passed.

The last part of the letter contained the special philosophy that Bhagyaraj possessed regarding life and death. “This body was not born to carry any expiry date. This body will go back to the earth or to the fire someday,” he mentioned in his letter, stating that all that is left after death are ashes, but love is the real treasure one can leave behind. “I’m grateful to the people who loved me, cried for me and respected me throughout the last journey of my life,” he said. “I will keep living through good movies, screenplays, dialogue and humanity.”
