During her appearance, she shared that she was feeling a lot better since she started her official treatment. She further shared that she will continue with immunotherapy for another year to recover. Teddi had stated at the time that, “Just to give a little life update to you guys, I had my immunotherapy yesterday and I did my scans and at this point there is no detectable cancer.” She further added that when she first got the diagnosis, she had become numb to everything around her. Teddi was first diagnosed with melanoma, a form of skin cancer, on her back. She later revealed that even though the treatment was going on, the cancer had expanded and metastasized to her brain as well as her lungs. Since her diagnosis, Mellencamp has undergone a total of 17 surgeries for the skin cancer.
