John Lithgow confirms ‘Harry Potter’ season 2 details, reveals how he met Daniel Radcliffe

The return of the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise has been quite an exciting feat for the fans who have been awaiting the release of the first season. John Lithgow, who has joined the cast as Professor Dumbledore, is one of the many who cannot contain his excitement about the show and its future. In a recent interview, the ‘Pet Semetary’ actor even ended up revealing some shocking details about the second season of ‘Harry Potter.’ Not only that, but he even shared how Daniel Radcliffe, who helmed the torch for the lead role of Harry Potter in the films, even met up with the veteran actor!The second season is to be set around J.K. Rowling’s second book in the franchise, ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.’

While talking about the magical series to Jimmy Fallon on one of the latest episodes of ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’, Lithgow shared some exciting news about the upcoming franchise. He revealed that the first season of the ‘Harry Potter’ series has officially wrapped up, and that the team is expected to return for filming sometime around fall.He commented, “It’s going to be absolutely beautiful, yeah, its glorious”, when Fallon asked how it has been for him to jump into the wizarding world.Further on, he also praised the cast and crew involved in the project, adding, “About half the crew I worked with on The Crown, which, until now, is the best television I’ve ever done. You put on that beard down to here, these long cloaks, and the floppy hats; it’s magic!”

Lithgow also could not stop gushing about meeting with Radcliffe. He cited during the show that Radcliffe had actually come to see him perform on Broadway, and that he was a “wonderful” person. For the unversed, Lithgow is currently playing author Roald Dahl in the Broadway play ‘Giants.’

About the ‘Harry Potter’ season 2

As per the latest reports, the second season of the rebooted series will revolve around the story of the book, ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.’ As of right now, the casting for the second season is in session, with the team looking for stars to replace Ginny Weasley’s actress, Gracie Cochrane, who dropped out after the first season because of personal reasons. New series regular characters who are being cast currently include Colin Creevey and Gilderoy Lockhart.The first season of the ‘Harry Potter’ series franchise is set to release around Christmas this year.
