‘Jee Le Zaraa’ with Priyanka, Alia, Katrina faces recasting?

‘Jee Le Zaraa’ with Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif faces recasting? Farhan Akhtar reacts: 'There are many rumors'

Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Jee Le Zaraa’, initially announced as a star-studded road-trip film featuring Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif, has been making headlines again, this time over speculation about a possible cast change. With the project facing multiple delays since its 2021 announcement, uncertainty around its current status has only grown stronger.Farhan Akhtar responds to casting speculationIn a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, addressing the rumours, Farhan dismissed the noise around recasting and maintained his transparent approach to filmmaking. “There are too many rumours doing the rounds about too many things. I have always maintained that I honestly don’t like keeping any secrets when I am making a film. Every time I felt like something is ready to go, I have put it out in the world, and shared it with them. And I’ll do the same,” he said, making it clear that official updates will come directly from him.The filmmaker also opened up about being in a reflective phase when it comes to directing. He shared that recent developments in his career have prompted him to pause and reassess his creative direction. “Right now, I am in a place where I really need to think about what I want to do next as a director. Because so many things have transpired in the last couple of years that I feel like I just need to catch my breath, and really just see where my heart lies with it. Once that happens, I’ll let the world know,” Farhan explained.Where ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ currently standsDespite the speculation, reports suggest that ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ is still very much in motion. Scheduling conflicts among the three leading actors, particularly Priyanka Chopra’s international commitments, were reportedly a major reason behind the delay. However, things now seem to be aligning, with Priyanka expected to make room for the film in her calendar. The film’s hurdles didn’t stop at coordinating dates. Finding suitable male co-stars to match the star power of the leading trio also proved to be a challenge. Farhan Akhtar, along with writers Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, reportedly wanted equally prominent actors, which added to the delay in moving the project forward. Reassuring fans, Farhan confirmed that the project is finally getting back on track. Reflecting on the challenges, he admitted, “To be honest, it was traumatic trying to get the actors’ dates. But we’ve sorted all that out. We’ll start soon.”More about ‘Jee Le Zaraa’Announced in 2021, the road-trip movie was set to star Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. However, following the pandemic, was set to go on floors in 2022 but later failed to take off, sparking buzz that the movie has been shelved. Go to Source
