‘Jana Nayagan’ continues to pull crowds in Tamil Nadu and other markets even after close to two weeks of its release in theatres. Weekday collections have predictably slowed down, but the movie keeps adding to its already stellar total with steady footfalls. The action entertainer has already crossed several milestones in its theatrical run and trade watchers now wait to see how much more it can earn before completing its second week. The film still stands as one of the highest-grossing Tamil releases of the year and continues to draw on Vijay’s loyal fan base.

Second week performance keeps Vijay’s film in the race

Although collections have come down after the weekend, the film has managed to hold a decent number of screens and continues to perform steadily. The Tamil version remains the biggest contributor to its earnings, while dubbed versions are also bringing in additional revenue. With the India gross already crossing the Rs 200 crore mark, the coming days will decide how far the film can extend its successful theatrical run. Industry observers believe the weekend ahead could once again provide a welcome boost to the overall collections.

‘Jana Nayagan’ continues a solid run

Directed by H. Vinoth, ‘Jana Nayagan’ stars Vijay in the lead with Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju and Bobby Deol. The film stars Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Narain in the supporting roles, and the music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The film is about Vetri Kondan, a retired police officer who embarks on a mission to fulfill a promise he made to help Viji overcome the hurdles and realize her dream of entering the armed forces.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and the data in this article are compiled from public and industry sources.
