Jaideep Ahlawat opens up about ‘men don’t cry’ mindset

'The Family Man 3' star Jaideep Ahlawat opens up about 'men don't cry' mindset; questions the conditioning

Jaideep Ahlawat, ‘The Family Man 3’ star, opened up about boys being shut down from getting vulnerable, and the ingrained thought of ‘men don’t cry.’ While the newly released season has been getting hearts and love on social media, the actor offered an honest reflection on society and the mindset that suppresses men from expressing their feelings.

Jaideep Ahlawat opens up about ‘men don’t cry’

Ahlawat claimed that children and men worldwide are advised not to cry. “Bacchon ko, mardon ko aisa nahi sirf Haryana mein, ye sab jagah hai. Anupaat upar neeche ho sakta hai (Children and men all over the world, not only in Haryana. The ratios might be different),” he said in an interview with Filmygyaan. The first line that is fed to the children, “Arey ladka ho ke kaun rota hai be? (You are a boy, why are you crying?)” Everywhere in the world, the repressive thought is fed into society. Opining about the vulnerability, Ahlawat mentioned that the thought leads to men not being expressive, or shutting down immediately after the first line of heartfelt emotions is mentioned. “Toh woh andar hi ghoot jaata hai; toh usko lagta hain ki phir issi ko play karte hain. But thoda bahut balance bacha rahega na to sanity bachi rahegi (Everything gets suppressed inside, and they feel like they must continue behaving the same way. But if there is some balance, sanity would sustain),” he added.
