‘Jai Hanuman’: Rishab begins filming with sacred puja in Hampi

‘Jai Hanuman’: Rishab Shetty begins filming with sacred puja in Hampi; Teja Sajja attends ceremony

The much-anticipated mythological epic ‘Jai Hanuman’ has officially gone on floors with a traditional muhurat ceremony at Anjanadri Betta in Hampi, a site revered as the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. The launch was marked by religious rituals and the presence of key members of the film’s team. Actor Rishab Shetty, who will portray Hanuman, attended the ceremony along with the director.

Grand launch at a sacred location

Choosing Anjanadri Betta for the opening ceremony added deep spiritual significance to the project. The team participated in customary prayers before commencing work. Director Prasanth Varma was present at the ceremony, and the film is envisioned as a large-scale spectacle, with extensive production design and cutting-edge technology planned to bring the mythological world to life on screen.

Rishab Shetty to headline as Hanuman

National Award-winning actor Rishab Shetty takes on the central role, stepping into a character that carries immense cultural importance. Known for his impactful performances in Kannada cinema, he now enters the mythological genre with a project rooted in faith and heroism. The narrative is expected to highlight themes of devotion, courage and spiritual strength.

Connection to the ‘Hanu-Man’ universe

‘Jai Hanuman’ follows the success of ‘Hanu-Man’ but shifts its focus from a modern superhero narrative to the deity himself. Actor Teja Sajja, who led the earlier film, also attended the launch, putting to rest speculation about his exit from the cinematic universe. The new instalment aims to expand the mythological world introduced earlier while presenting a more direct exploration of Hanuman’s legend.
