Jaden Smith’s ‘I Love You’ restaurant

Did you know Will Smith's son Jaden Smith has a restaurant offering free food? All about his ‘I Love You’ food initiative

Jaden Smith, Will Smith’s son, has now made headlines for another good deed. The singer and actor is known for using his influence to take a stand, and now, has decided to give back to the community through a ‘free’ restaurant! Here’s all you need to know about the ‘Karate Kid’ actor’s latest endeavour.

Jaden Smith opens a free vegan restaurant for homeless people

Smith has officially opened up a non-profit restaurant called ‘I Love You’ in one of the biggest homeless settlement areas in Los Angeles. The singer even established a proper website for the initiative, revealing more details about how and why they operate the way they do.The initiative has been in place since the singer’s 21st birthday in 2019. The restaurant works on a food truck and offers free meals to all of the homeless people in the area on Skid Row. On the initiative’s website, it has also been shared that they offer free water from Smith’s own brand and even donate clothes to those in need. This initiative has come under light again, soon after Jaden shared a video that he wished for the initiative to go beyond a food truck. In the video, he stated that he wishes for there to be a proper building in the Skin Row area, where people can come and have their meals in peace.

Jaden Smith’s restaurant carries a ‘pay it forward’ policy

Another factor about the initiative is that anyone can come and eat from the food truck. For homeless people, the food is completely free of cost; however, if you wish to eat from there, you can pay for a meal. Carrying a ‘pay it forward’ facility, the meal that you pay for will cover the next person’s food. Not only that, but Smith’s initiative also promotes healthy and good meals. On the official website, it has been shared that “Our founder, Jaden Smith, believes everyone deserves access to the healthiest food options, no matter their financial situation. So the menu was created with our world-class chef and co-founder, Tabitha Leeper, to bring that vision to life.”Prior to this, Jaden had also started his own water company, offering more sustainable and eco-friendly packaging as an alternative to the regular plastic bottles. Not only that, but through his organization, he even helped establish a mobile filtration device in Flint, Michigan when their water crisis was at its peak back in 2019.
