A ‘Parinda’ scene demanded seventeen real slaps

One story that shows their commitment comes from the filming of ‘Parinda’ (1989), a crime drama directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Jackie Shroff shared a surprising behind-the-scenes anecdote in a past conversation with Firstpost, he had to slap Anil Kapoor 17 times for a single scene!Jackie recalled, “He wanted to express that his elder brother had slapped him. The first shot was okayed by the director, and he got the right expression as well. But he said, ‘No, I want one more.’ I slapped him. He again said, ‘One more.’ I slapped him 17 times for the scene.”

Shroff insisted authenticity could not be faked

Shroff furher explained the reason behind the repeated slaps, “I couldn’t just act as if I was slapping him. I had to slap him as one couldn’t get his reaction if you slap in the air.” This level of dedication shows how seriously both actors take their craft.

Jackie Shroff continues to stay busy on screen. This year, he was last seen in ‘Tanvi The Great’ and ‘Housefull 5’. Apart from this, as per reports, he will also be seen in ‘King’, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan and directed by Siddharth Anand.

Anil Kapoor on the work front

On the other hm Anil Kapoor has been keeping the energy alive too. He recently made a cameo in ‘War 2’, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. Additionally, he will be seen in ‘Alpha’ alongside Alia Bhatt and Sharvari.
