'She’s so unfussily terrific': After Dhanush, Rahul Ravindran praises Biana Momin’s standout turn in ‘Eko’

Biana Momin is receiving widespread acclaim for her riveting role in the Malayalam psychological thriller ‘Eko’. After a successful run at the box office and a nod from celebrated actor Dhanush, director Rahul Ravindran has praised Momin’s performance as ‘extraordinary’ and ‘authentic’.

Rahul Ravindran has added his voice to the growing praise for actor Biana Momin’s performance in the Malayalam psychological thriller ‘Eko’. Dhanush praised the film recently and specifically highlighted Momin’s lead performance. That nod has pushed fresh focus onto both the title and its star as the movie streams on Netflix after a strong theatrical run. Many in the industry now point to Momin’s restrained work as a key reason the film stays with viewers.

Early praise and industry reactions

According to Cinema Express, Dhanush shared his thoughts on ‘Eko’ on social media and made a special note of Biana Momin’s performance. Quoting his post, Rahul Ravindran wrote, “I am so glad he mentioned Biana Momin… it’s an incredible performance! She’s so unfussily terrific in the film. But I haven’t seen much chatter about her online. I don’t blame people. She delivers such a lived in performance that nobody will walk out saying she was great. She was that great.”Ravindran recently earned critical appreciation for his directorial ‘The Girlfriend’, and his endorsement has been widely reported by entertainment portals. Media outlets that covered the exchange noted that his comments echoed a broader industry sentiment that Momin’s work deserves more discussion. Biana Momin also made history with ‘Eko’ as the first person from Meghalaya’s Garo tribe to act in Malayalam cinema, a milestone highlighted in several reports.
