Imran Khan set for a comeback with Bhumi Pednekar in a romantic comedy – Report

Actor Imran Khan, known for his charming boy-next-door roles and as Aamir Khan’s nephew, has been away from the big screen for quite some time. He made a strong debut with Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na (2008), co-starring Genelia D’Souza, which became a major box office success. However, despite his promising start, Imran’s later films couldn’t replicate the same magic.Now, the actor is all set to make his much-awaited comeback, this time alongside Bhumi Pednekar. A recent report has shared an exciting update about his return to films.

Imran’s return project has been creating quite a buzz among fans. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the film’s post-production is currently underway, and the edit is expected to be locked by December 2025.A source close to the development told the publication, “The shoot of the film got wrapped up in August; it is now in post-production. The makers are hoping to lock the edit by December and release it in early 2026.” The official release date, however, is yet to be confirmed.The source further added, “That’s all dependent on Netflix, so one will have to wait for them to commit to a date. Nothing happens until seven layers of corporate executives have signed off.”

Imran’s comeback film is directed by Danish Aslam and features Bhumi Pednekar as the female lead. The movie is reportedly a romantic comedy, marking Imran’s much-anticipated return to the big screen after several years.
